Project Overview
Specializing in wellness services that foster a healthier and more enjoyable workplace atmosphere, the company has decided to transform its online platform to offer an intuitive and accessible experience to boost employee engagement for companies.
Research & Benchmark
During this phase, we decided to focus on indirect competitors in wellness/corporate space because the business is so unique it’s hard to find direct competitors in the space. Mobile hair stylists exist in London but seem to exist less in a B2B capacity and more in personal/private settings. Furthermore, offering personal care services such as haircuts could be linked to mental health and employee retention both of which are big workplace trends for 2024. Totem is first in search results for London hairdressers who offer haircuts in office.
Interview Insights
During our information gathering stage, we interviewed the owner of Totem to discover her main pain points and how we can help to solve the problem.
Problem Statement
After analyzing our findings we came up with our problem statement.
Office managers need to find a way to book wellness treatments online because they want to improve employee satisfaction.
Our Solution & Goals
We decided to focus on creating an appointment booking system specifically tailored for office managers aiming to enhance employee engagement. This decision was prompted by the observation that the website did not communicate whether the business was on individual employees or office managers.
Site Map
The site map is a key step to do great information architecture work for an effective user experience. On the fact that users of this booking system will be busy office managers, we have decided that it must be something simple and fast.
Ideation
After concluding the research phase, we decided to focus on the ideation stage, during which we utilized the Crazy 8s method and the MoSCoW technique. These techniques are meant to bring out new ideas that could work for Totem hair.
FlowChart
We created a user flow based on common tasks for booking an appointment.
Mid-fi & User Testing
The main focus of the wireframes is the flow for booking an appointment, ensuring a clear and seamless process for users. We have a one-scroll page where users can detect easily Totem's concept.
After having our Mid-fi wireframes, we conducted a usability test with 10 users to see if there were any frustrations or pain points. The task given was to successfully book an appointment. After testing, results revealed that users understood the task of booking an appointment, and they gave us positive feedback on how intuitive the flow is.
