My Atlas
My Atlas is a mobile app dedicated to deliver itineraries for travels across the world in the tourism industry.
Project Overview
The goal was to identify opportunities for enhancing both the app's usability and aesthetics for users.
Heuristic Analysis
The first thing I did was to download the app to conduct a heuristic analysis. The analysis is conducted to identify a product's common usability issues so that problems can be resolved. Consequently improving the user's satisfaction and experience and raising the chances of a digital product's success overall.
To conclude, flexibility and efficiency measure the speed and how quickly users can accomplish tasks once they have become familiarised with the design of an interface which in this case is not optimal for users.
Goals
After conducting Heuristics, we need to think of ideas to improve the overall experience for users. One improvement is to create a unified home screen where users can create their itinerary in one click. The second improvement is to give easy access to their itinerary by creating a new navigation bar.
Benchmark
The benchmark involves identifying and analyzing strategies that are effective for other companies. When doing benchmarks the objective is to identify the best practices of other competitors and how can My Atlas differentiate from direct or indirect competitors.
Main Issues
Based on my findings when doing Heuristics and benchmarks, we can reaffirm that:
The app lacks flexibility and efficiency of use.
The user needs to go through several screens to do a simple task.
No easy access to my itinerary in the tap bar.

Before & After UX/UI
As you can see, by having a unified home page the user is free to create an itinerary with just one click, and has flexible access to itineraries in the nav bar saving extra steps and time for users.
